TextEdit the default text editor on the Mac does not have an option to show line numbers for a text in a file, nor does it have a status bar where you can see which is the current line you are on. But, if you want to go to a specific line and select it, you can do that by the below steps,
- Open your file in TextEdit,
- Now go to Menu: Edit -> Find -> Select Line.
- Now add the line number you want to select.
- The line would get selected.
