By default the background of the Mac Terminal is black, unless you have applied a theme or changed the background to some other color.
If you want the Terminal to have the same default color theme again then follow the below steps,
- Open the Terminal App on your Mac.
- Now go to Menu: Terminal -> Settings...
- Now under Profiles tab, make sure that Basic Theme is selected.
- Also make sure that "Color & Effects" background is set to black color.
- Close the Profiles window.
- You will see that the Terminal color is back again.
