How to Stop Mac from Sleeping (macOS Ventura and Above)


Note: This article is applicable to macOS Ventura 13.0 and above.

At times you may not want your Mac device to go to sleep as you keep it idle. In such a case you need to change the settings on your macOS so that the device do not get locked.


Steps to prevent Mac from Sleeping

  1. Click on the Apple logo  on the Menubar.
  2. Now select System Settings...
  3. From the sidebar select Lock Screen.
  4. Now make the following changes.
    • Start Screen Saver when inactive: Never
    • Turn display off on battery when inactive: Never
    • Turn display off on power adapter when inactive: Never
    • Do take note if you are using a MacBook Air/Pro Laptop - Never letting your display go to sleep may shorten battery life.
