If for some reason, the date and time that is set on your Mac device seem incorrect and you want to change it using the Terminal, you can do that by running the below command in the Terminal shell.
% sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com
+0.160585 +/- 0.060568 time.apple.com 17.253.60.253
