If you are receiving Connection Error: Failed to download patch file: dl.google.com while trying to update to a newer version then the reason would be that you have either an unstable internet connection or your internet connection (wifi) went down.
- Make sure that your internet connection is active.
- Check your Wifi is not disabled.
- Just try accessing other websites to see if the internet is available. You can also open the download page provided to get the patch.
- Try switching to some other network
