Experienced devs 19% slower with AI tools
Stack Overflow podcast today cited research: experienced developers are 19% slower when using AI coding tools on legacy codebases. The productivity gains are real , but mostly on greenfield, modern stacks (Node, Python, React). Enterprise legacy code is a different story.
