Notepad++ Happy vs Unhappy Versions


On July 8th, 2022, Notepad++ released a new version of Notepad++ called v8.4.3 - Unhappy Users' Edition with a note based on the feedback from a user seems unhappy with his experience with the Application, to which Don rightly replied saying he is ready to pay the refund for all his purchase receipts of Notepad++ over the years :D

What's new in v8.4.3 Unhappy Users' Edition

  • New option allows showing only 1 entry per found line in search results.
  • EOL (CRLF) display customizable.
  • New shortcuts of document management on the right side of the menu.

Just a week later on July 15th, 2022, Don released another version called v8.4.4 - Happy Users' Edition with the below release note:

Since the release of Unhappy Users’ Edition, I’ve got a lot of unconditional worship and praise - thank you for letting me know that Notepad++ happy users do exist!

It’s unfair that ungrateful users can get a refund whereas loyal and faithful users can’t. So this version is for Notepad++ Happy Users: please fill up the following form, you deserve your money double back!
